Becky Bank Srour was born in NYC and grew up in Ramat Hasharon, Israel. Becky is a former world class gymnast who trained under the highest level of coaches from Romania, Russia and the U.S. During her adolescent years, she attended the Wingate Institute for Physical Education and Sports in Netanya, Israel, to dedicate her focus on her skills in gymnastics. She relocated twice to the United States at 13 and 16 years old, in order to train and then pursue the Olympic dream. In the '99 World championships, she earned the Wild Card to represent Israel at the 2000 Olympics, though a series of events denied her participation.
Becky was always interested in how the body works and what can be done to regenerate it. Her interest in stem cells and biomaterials, drove her to study molecular biochemistry and chemical engineering at the Technion in Haifa, Israel. While a student, she coached the Technion gymnastics team.
While she was headed on a path toward becoming a biotech engineer, she kept wondering whether she should have pursued a career in physical therapy or rehabilitative movement. Pilates was the beginning of her new career.
"A master's degree, work, and two daughters later, life brought me back home. By the word home, I mean that place where I feel 100% in place. Comfortable. Doing what I love.
From diving deep into research, working in labs, and presenting in front of people, I now work with people. I can help them feel good.
I can see their improvement in front of my eyes. I believe that along with recent advancements in biotech and medicine, our own body and mind are key source for rehabilitation."
Becky is committed to continue educating herself in rehabilitative movement and manual therapy.
